Tarot Card of The Day: Wheel of Fortune
Fate versus Destiny; what’s the difference? Do we have control over our lives or are we just holding on to the wheel? Does free will exist? The Wheel of Fortune is both a transporting device and a mode of torture. It can deliver great success in one moment and dispatch that success in the next. This contraption of opposites both intrigues and horrifies us; instilling within our collective psyche the urge to engage life as if it were an arbitrary game of chance. This notion begs the question, is life really a collection of random circumstances or is there something more to it? The Tarot knows the answer and it’s mystery is revealed through the synchronisation of events that surround our often myopic perceptions of reality. In other words, the more we pay attention to the choices we make and the reasons for why we make those choices the better we understand the boons and busts of our seemingly arbitrary experiences. When we truly understand the Law of Cause and Effect, we realize the importance of taking accountability for ALL of our thoughts, words, and actions. Every nuance no matter how seemingly insignificant resonates out into the universe eventually echoing back to us for better or for worse. If you feel like your stuck in and endless cycle of ups and downs ask yourself, how am I contributing to my Karmic reality?
The Sphinx, with her secret, presides over The Wheel of Fortune. The Wheel as it turns counter-clockwise propels its riders up and then down into perpetuity or so it would seem. Does the Sphinx hold the riddle to the mystery? Is there a way off the Wheel? The four permanent signs of the Zodiac in conjunction with the four Gospels sit as sentinels on the four corners of the card leaving the seeker to consider that perhaps the answer is right in front of us.
